Who is Vladislav Doronin?

Vladislav Doronin is an accomplished international real estate investor and developer, focused on luxury residential, commercial and hospitality properties.  

Vladislav Doronin’s portfolio includes US-based international development company OKO Group, the world’s preeminent hospitality brand, Aman and recently launched hospitality brand, Janu. He was also the founder of leading real estate firm Capital Group.

When was Capital Group founded? 

Capital Group was founded by Vladislav Doronin in 1993. 

When was OKO Group founded? 

OKO Group was founded by Vladislav Doronin in 2015 and is headquartered in Miami, Florida and Manhattan, New York. 

How many OKO developments are currently underway in the USA and where are they?  

There are currently four OKO developments under construction within the USA: 

  1. Aman New York, New York City – due to open in 2021, Aman New York is the latest hotel opening from Aman. Located in the city’s iconic Crown Building on 5th Avenue and 57th Street, Aman New York will offer guests and residents the signature Aman experience within the pulsing centre of Manhattan 
  1. 830 Brickell, Miami – the city’s first-Class A+ office space to be built in more than a decade, bringing a premium commercial offering to the heart of Miami’s financial centre 
  1. Missoni Baia, Miami – developed in partnership with the Missoni family, Missoni Baia is the first residential collaboration for the Italian fashion house and will be home to 249 condo residences which celebrate the timeless appeal of waterfront living  
  1. Una Residences, Miami – a monumental condo tower spread over 47 stories, featuring 135 elegantly crafted residences with unobstructed, sweeping views of Biscayne Bay 

Are there further projects in the pipeline for OKO Group? 

Yes, the renovation of the historic Versailles building on Collins Avenue in Miami to create Aman Miami, plus the Aman Miami Residences, which will be located next door to the hotel. Further projects are in the pipeline but have yet to be announced. 

Who owns Aman? 

Vladislav Doronin is owner, CEO and Chairman of Aman – the world’s leading hospitality brand, which also has branded residences. 

When did Vladislav Doronin purchase Aman?  

Aman was acquired by Vladislav Doronin in 2014 and has been under his leadership as Chairman and CEO ever since. 

How many Aman properties are there and in how many countries? 

There are 33 Aman properties across 20 different countries, 14 of these are located within or close to UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 

What is the current pipeline for new Aman properties? 

There are seven further Aman properties which have been announced and are in development – Aman New York (2021), Aman Nai Lert Bangkok (2023), Aman Niseko (2023), AlUla (2023) Aman Residences Tokyo (2023), Amanvari (2024), Aman Miami (2024) – plus a wider pipeline of opportunities being explored by the Aman team under Vladislav Doronin’s leadership.

Aman has recently announced the arrival of a new Ready-to-Wear Retail Collection, The Essentials by Aman, available now exclusively at Aman boutiques across the globe. The timeless collection, crafted in the highest quality materials, by artisan craftsmen aims to revolutionise the on-property shopping experience.  

The retail collection was founded on a considered ethos of attention to detail and uncomplicated living – from the sourcing of delicate fabrics to the selection of exceptional manufacturers. Clean lines, subdued colours and subtle prints form the Aman design language, with understated detailing that transcends seasons, forming a range of essentials for every Aman guest. In tune with this ethos, the entire collection allows freedom of movement – whether wearing chic linens for an alfresco dinner, or a wrapping up in a luxurious towel to at the Aman spa. The collection comprises activewear, beachwear, loungewear, knitwear, jersey and soft accessories. 

What is Aman Skincare? 

Aman Skincare was launched in 2018, with 30 products introduced on the occasion of the brand’s 30th anniversary. Aman Skincare has been formulated with leading experts using an exotic roll-call of natural, rare and precious ingredients, many of which have been wild-harvested in various Aman destinations.  

The skincare collection – which includes hydrating face creams and serums, nourishing face masks, uplifting body oils, calming milk baths and pulse-point remedies – represents the spirit of Aman in a bottle.  

In addition, Aman Skincare includes a range of three beautifully scented Aman Spa Candles, which echo the pathways of the Aman Skincare collection. Offering a distinct journey to wellbeing, each candle delivers an exquisite fragrance from refreshing notes of floral rose to the sensuous spice of ginger, whether one is seeking a moment of calm or invigoration. 

What is SVA? 

SVA, named after the Sanskrit word for health, ‘svasthya’, is a collection of Traditional Chinese Herbal Formulas created to promote holistic health and wellbeingBoth natural and sustainable, SVA’s range of seven Chinese Herbal Formulas can help to support immunity, digestion, circulation and to sustain a healthy mind. Inspired by the study of herbal medicine, each formula is gluten-free, plant based and most importantly, can be easily integrated into the daily routine. 

Created by Vladislav Doronin and his personal doctor, Dr Ning Ma, the development of this new range of products was a personal passion, driven by Mr Doronin’s desire to share his positive experiences with Chinese Herbal Formulas, bringing these carefully selected herbs to the Aman community and offering a proactive approach to health in the comfort of one’s own home. 

What is Aman Fine Fragrance? 

In 2020 Aman launched its Fine Fragrance Collection.  

Aman has always revelled in the beauty and healing embrace of its breath-taking locations and the stimulation of its cultural settings. Influenced by these surroundings – from desert to jungle, island to city – Aman has created Fine Fragrance.  

The range of seven sophisticated and gender-neutral scents has been carefully crafted to evoke emotion through one of the most powerful senses. Created by master perfumer Jacques Chabert, the collection was designed not only to evoke emotion through their ability to transport but provide an engaging pathway to welcome new individuals to the Aman brand.

When was Janu created and how does it differ from Aman?  

Janu, meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit, is the new sister brand to Aman, meaning ‘peace’. Janu was launched in March 2020 and has been created to celebrate restoration through connection and togetherness. The energy and the heartbeat of Janu is what sets it apart from Aman. The Aman experience is focused on privacy, while the Janu lifestyle is centred around connecting with others.  

There are several Janu hotel projects in the pipeline, with three announced Janu locations – Janu Montenegro (2022), AlUla Saudi Arabia (2023) and Janu Tokyo (2023). There is an extensive pipeline of further Janu properties, which will be announced in due course.
