Aman was founded in 1988 with the vision of building a collection of intimate retreats with the warm hospitality of a gracious private home. The first, Amanpuri (meaning place of peace) in Phuket, Thailand, introduced the concept, and since then, Aman has grown to encompass 34 resorts, hotels, and private residences in 22 countries.*

The gentle evolution of Aman has seen the introduction of holistic wellness immersions, private jet journeys and several culinary concepts including the launch of Nama and Arva in 2017. Nama serves uncomplicated and elegant dishes honouring the tradition of Washoku, the UNESCO-celebrated ‘food of Japan’ whilst Arva, celebrates bold, heart-warming dishes, alive with flavour and inspired by the warmth of Italy.

The Aman Skincare range, introduced in 2018, is inspired by the Aman Spas and is a continuation of the holistic journey Aman guests experience on property. 2020 saw the launch of Aman Spa Candles, Fine Fragrance and SVA – a range of holistic Traditional Chinese Medicine formulas developed to aid in maintaining optimum health in a modern and frenetic world – a progression and extension of Aman’s wellness offering and the chance for guests to experience Aman at home. 2021 saw the introduction of Aman Essentials, a curated edit of ready-to-wear pieces inspired by Aman destinations around the globe, which was expanded in 2022 to include the Leather Collection, a range of 19 small and large leather goods created with the Aman client in mind.
