Hong Kong Tatler: Aman Residences to Debut in Tokyo in 2023

HONG KONG – (Hong Kong Tatler) – Aman will debut its first residence-only development, the Aman Residences, Tokyo, in 2023. Situated on floors 54 to 64 of the new Toranomon-Azabudai towers, the new Aman Residences will be housed in the same complex as the luxury travel company’s newest sister brand, Janu, which will debut its Janu Tokyo hotel, as well.

“Launching our first urban Aman Residences in Japan is a milestone moment in the history of Aman and speaks to our brand’s close relationship and symbiosis with this country and its incredibly special culture,” says Chairman and CEO of Aman and Janu Vladislav Doronin.

“Working with leading developers Mori Building, and being part of the Toranomon-Azabudai project, will enable us to bring to life Aman’s fifth development within Japan, this time offering a permanent sanctuary for owners as well as exclusive access to the Aman lifestyle. Furthermore, it will provide the setting for Janu Tokyo. In this hub of culture and art, we want to connect guests to the heart of this vibrant community and offer a chance for creative expression.”

The Aman Residences will be spread across 11 floors, and will comprise the tallest residential towers in central Tokyo. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects—who are perhaps best known for their work on the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, IFC in Hong Kong, the World Financial Centre in New York, the Chengdu Museum of Natural History, and Salesforce Tower in San Francisco—the property consists of 91 homes designed by Yabu Pushelberg, and a 1,400 sq m Aman spa accessible only to residents.

The Janu Tokyo will be home to 120 guest rooms and suites designed by Denniston as well as a 3,500 sq m spa and wellness facility, six restaurants and bars.
